We have had Gordons since 1988. David, a veterinarian, had a client with a Gordon. He told me he thought they were nice dogs. I looked around and got our first Gordon, Star, in 1988. I didn't know anything about showing or field training, but Star liked to hunt, so we did. She was such a nice dog, that we added Scrappy a few years later and I was bit by the show bug. Scrappy got a few points as an older dog, but I knew if I wanted to show, I would have to find a breeder of show gordons. Luckily a breeder took a chance on a novice and sold me, Gunner, who would become, CH Buteo's Osage Spirit. Susan Kilby of Buteo Kennels, became my mentor and helped me along as I learned the ropes of the show ring. Gunner was a special dog who won specialties and had mulitiple group wins. Gunner was joined at my house by his brother Buster, CH Buteo's Catch Me If You Can and sister, Buteo's Osage Song, Pistol.
Gunner's memory lives on in CH Osage Ridge Peacemaker,"Colt" and Osage Ridge Cat Ballou "Cat". Colt is the sire of the winner's dog at the 2010 National CH Locust Grove Starfighter at Osage Ridge, "Hunter". We have also produced: CH Osage Ridge Mind Body and Soul JH, Ch Osage Ridge Summertime Blues JH, CH Buteo's Heavenly Firecracker, CH Buteo's Heavenly Fireworks, CH Osage Ridge Life's A Dance, CH Osage Can You See among others. We occasionally have a litter of puppies if I am looking for a new show prospect.
Through the gordon world we have met many friends from across the country and continue to meet new friends today. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
